WHAT PHOTOGRAPHY MEANS TO ME
If you saw a leaf fall from a tree and onto the ground, what would you do? Would you step on it? Kick it out of the way? Maybe you’d just ignore it. If it was me, I would admire it. I would admire how it fell so carelessly out of that tree and fell in this one spot, in this exact position. I would be in awe of how out of the infinite possibilities of the way and place this leaf could have fell, it fell like this, right here in front of me. I’d probably take a picture of it. To marvel at the beauty in something others wouldn’t think twice about. That’s what I love about photography. Taking a moment, whether it be a leaf on the ground or a child’s laughter, and turning it into a single freeze frame to cherish forever. Because in the infinite number of outcomes, in the infinite number of universes; I’m experiencing this moment right now and I want to remember it until the next lifetime and show it to those who were not there to see it. Without that, who would I be?
I’m sure in another universe somewhere, there’s a me, who couldn’t care less about photography. However, in this universe, photography is all I have. I have worked my entire life to find something I was as passionate about. I’ve tried writing, music, and even looking into a career as a private investigator. Although, none of that gave me the same kind of fulfillment as learning about aperture and shutter speed. My life wouldn’t be the same if I wasn’t able to share the moments from my universe with those who have never heard of my story line. This is why I’ve started ADSLR Photography. To share my stories and capture the stories of others.
